Our Purpose
Myanmar Hope Christian Mission, Inc.,(MyHope) is a non-profit corporation formed in order to bring help tothe people of Myanmar. Our assistance is meant to be holistic - we wantto meet the needs of the whole person, including spiritual,physical, educational and emotional.
Our Past
MyHope was formed in Springfield, Illinois in May, 2007, by Charles and MaryAnn Cherry and Palal. Palal is in America to study for a doctorate at Lincoln Christian College and Seminary, located in Lincoln, Illinois. Charles and MaryAnn, his American sponsors, immediately fell in love with Palal, his wife Vahneikim, and his son Solomon.
As Charles and MaryAnn became more aware of the tremendous needs of our Christian family in Myanmar, a vision was born for a new organization that would bring hope, comfort, encouragement and much needed help to those who so desperately need help.
Our Present
In just the few months since ourfounding, God has done amazing and incredible things through thegenerous donations people just like you. Through His grace and yourgenerous offerings, we have been able to:
- Provide food, clothing, education, and shelter for many needy families and individuals
- Provide emergency food aid for displaced villagers
- Provide emergency medical treatment and on-going health care for several individuals
- Supply Bibles to Christians in their native tongue
- Provide new and/or improved worship facilities for churches
- Provide bicycles for pastors
- Provide Christmas meals, with meat, for several poverty-stricken churches
- Provide blankets and mattresses to several individuals and families
- and even more that we cannot share online!
Our Future
We have adream and a vision for improving the lives of the people of Myanmar,and our mission is to see that dream fulfilled in our lifetimes. Westrongly desire to see poverty, racism, inequality and injusticeeliminated. We look forward to a day when even the most remote tribalareas have access to abundant, inexpensive, nutritious food, cleanrunning water, quality education and adequate health care.
Most importantly, we desire to see the eternal hope of Jesus Christ fill the hearts and minds of all the people of Myanmar.
